Charleen Caabay, aka “Chef Charleen,” is a culinary creative, and entrepreneur who began her career in tech before she decided to follow her passion of becoming a self-taught chef. That leap of faith resulted in her becoming the first Filipino American chef to win Food Network's Chopped in thirty-two seasons. She has opened two successful restaurants in Oakland, as well as other businesses throughout the cities of Oakland and San Francisco.
Chef Charleen’s mission is to provide Filipino Comfort food to every one. She wants to introduce the palettes to new tastes and textures. She is constantly creating innovative dishes for her patrons to enjoy.
